Funerals & Celebrations of Life

Saying goodbye should honour the person you love and not just follow a set formula.

When someone dies, the funeral is one of the few chances you have to gather everyone who mattered to them and tell their story. It should feel right. It should feel like them. And it should give everyone present a moment to grieve, remember, and begin to heal.

I create funerals and celebrations of life that do exactly that, crafting ceremonies filled with warmth, dignity, and authenticity.

What Is a Celebrant-Led Funeral?

A celebrant-led funeral is a personalised ceremony that tells the story of the person who died. It's not religious (unless you want it to be), and it's not generic. It's crafted specifically for your loved one and your family.

I'll meet with you to learn about the person you've lost, capturing their personality, passions, quirks, achievements, and the moments that defined them. Then I'll write and deliver a ceremony that honours their life in a way that feels genuine and meaningful.

Whether you want something traditional and reflective, or a full celebration with music, laughter, and stories, I'll help you create it.

Types of Funeral Services

    Traditional Funerals

A funeral at a crematorium or cemetery with a respectful, heartfelt ceremony that includes readings, music, and a tribute. Traditional doesn't have to mean generic so I will ensure it reflects who your loved one truly was.

    Celebrations of Life

Some families prefer to focus on celebrating rather than mourning. A celebration of life might include more upbeat music, personal anecdotes, laughter, and even interactive elements where guests can share memories. It's still a goodbye, but with joy and gratitude at the heart.

    Memorial Services

If the funeral has already happened or was private, a memorial service is a chance for a wider group to come together and remember. These can take place weeks or even months later, giving you time to plan something special.

    Interment of Ashes

When you're ready to lay ashes to rest, I can create a short but meaningful ceremony. It could be held in a cemetery, a woodland burial ground, or a place that was special to your loved one.

How I Work with Bereaved Families

Losing someone is overwhelming. The last thing you need is more stress or decisions that feel impossible.

I'll guide you gently through the process, asking questions that help me understand your loved one while giving you space to grieve. I'm not here to rush you or impose a structure—I'm here to support you and create something that feels right.

If you're struggling to find words or you're not sure what the ceremony should include, that's okay. I'll help you figure it out. And if you know exactly what you want, I'll make it happen.

If your funeral director has recommended me, that's wonderful, but you can also approach me directly and let them know you'd like me as your celebrant.

Working with Funeral Directors

I work with funeral directors throughout Hampshire and Surrey. If your funeral director has recommended me, that's wonderful—but you can also approach me directly and let them know you'd like me as your celebrant.

I'll coordinate with them to make sure the logistics are sorted: timing, music, orders of service, anything else that needs organising. My job is to take some weight off your shoulders.
